Dove Springs, one of the most attractive places to live
According to Sam Ramos of the Austin Chronicle, the unofficial limits of Dove Springs include William Cannon, Ben White, an area east of Dove Springs District Park, and Interstate 35. Downtown Austin is 6 miles (9.7 kilometers) away.
According to Joy Diaz of KUT, the town “had a less than ideal reputation” for several decades, and it “is also one of the poorest parts of Austin.”

Dove Springs is home to Consuelo Mendez Middle School. Dove Springs is served by two high schools: Akins High School and Travis High School.
The Harmony School of Excellence, which first opened its doors in 2009, is a local charter school. Many students come from Dove Springs and Del Valle as of 2014.
Recreation centers: –
The Dove Springs Recreation Centre is an 18,000-square-foot (1,700-square-meter) facility run by the City of Austin. A nature walking route, one swimming pool, one outdoor tennis court, one sand volleyball pit, one outdoor basketball court, three soccer fields, three baseball fields, two outdoor tennis courts, one pavilion, and one playscape can be found on the center’s grounds. There is an arts and crafts area, a full-court gymnasium, a television room and lobby, and a weight room in one of the buildings.

This is the novice-friendly sister to nearby Jawbone Canyon, which is located on almost 5,000 acres of public land. The terrain consists of rolling hills with scrub bush, sandy washes, and a popular “bowl” location, and most of the trails are graded easy. This is a terrific area to bring the family for a weekend of camping and riding because most of the trails are beginner-friendly.

Dove Springs is bordered by the Sequoia National Forest, which has a 4×4 route leading to McIver’s Cabin, which was erected in 1938 and is one of the area’s main attractions. Hikers trekking the Pacific Crest Trail can also use the cabin as a rest stop. The Burro Schmidt Tunnel is accessible via other nearby routes.
